Living in a Yurt?

I am interested in staying with a nomad family, living in the yurt.
Does anyone have any info about a YURT? Simple questions such as: how about the toilet? do I have to sleep on the carpet????? You know, it's just very foreign to me....Tks.

depends on which country? for example in Kazakistan or tibet they have beautiful large YURTs that are huge domes with lots of room. They move once winter hits and in summer they take their rolled up yurts to the mountains.they have carpets inside all over. You would have to sleep on the floor.but its veryyyyyyyy comfortable. toilets will be in the woods or bushy area..its not that bad.

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles A yurt is a portable, feltcovered, wood latticeframed dwelling structure traditionally used by nomads in the steppes of Central Asia. A yurt is more homelike than a tent in shape and build, with thicker walls. They are popular amongst nomads. Traditional yurts consist of a circular wooden frame carrying a felt cover. The felt is made from the wool of the flocks of sheep that accompany the pastoralists. The timber to make the external structure is not to be found on the treeless steppes, and must be obtained by trade in the valleys below. The frame consists of one or more lattice wallsections, a doorframe, roof poles and a crown. Some styles of yurt have one or more columns to support the crown. The (selfsupporting) wood frame is covered with pieces of felt. Depending on availability, the felt is additionally covered with canvas and/or suncovers.
