How do I naturally get out vegetable based hair dye quickly?

do you mean "henna" color? This is not always that easy.
You could try to wash your hair with agressive shampoos,(hea. ... sho...), for example.
You could also try to pour the juice of a lemon into your wet hair.
If the hair dye is a red color it's almost impossible to get it out. I tried this myself, without good results.

You could also go to the hairdresser. They do have special shampoos and conditioner for that kind of problem.

Vegetable Dye Tattoos?

I am about to start production on a film, shooting over a extended period of time, and I need a character to have some very large tattoos. My makeup artist has referenced 'Cape Fear' where DeNiro's character was tattooed using vegetable dyes, which last up to a month or more, and then they just re-applied it to keep it looking the same over the entire shoot.

I don't think they used Henna (which is also a type of vegetable dye, so I have read) because Henna is a typically brown/dark red color, whereas DeNiro's tats were black.

Does anyone have any links, or any information on vegetable dye being used for fake tattoos? I am mainly looking for any instructional information, or merely suggestions on the type of dye and the process, so that my makeup artist can learn more about it before the shoot arrives.

they do actually make black henna. Its actually indigo processed the same way the henna plant is. Im personally using it on my face for a prom mask and i haven't had any bad reaction b/c i bought the straight powder that you add water and lemon juice to to make the paste. The pre-made paste usually has some nasty chemicals in that so i would stay away from that. i don't know what vegetable dyes you would use to get black besides the henna. I bought my indigo, black henna, from a wiccan shop on ebay. make sure its a dried leaf color and not brown or bright bright green cuz these are usually old or have extra dye in them. Store the henna in the fridge both the powder and the paste to keep it longer. Theres instructions all over the internet for different ways to make it but i find it all kinda does the same thing. so i would reccomend half lemon juice and half water to get the paste to a little runnier than toothpaste.
