Will the Royal Navy give my son good discpline?

One of my kids, Tarquine, is a bit of a nancy poncer and threw a hissy-fit after his crochet throw-rug didn't come out as planned.
I'm determined to have him made into a man.
So one night, I went down to Portsmouth docks to look at the ships, and I came across many jolly, friendly sailors loitering about there- so I had a chat. They were all very friendly, especially the Turkish and Greek chaps, very hands-on.

One of them mentioned straightening out his mizzen-mast after a good peg.
Another talked about his deep desire to get below decks and run his "bow astern" with Tarquine.
While I'm not up to scratch on all the Navy jargon sailing talk they all assured me the Navy would give Tarquine excellent back-boning, guarantee his rigidity and an upright posture.

So do you think this is suitable for Tarquine?

Try and get him a placing on an aircraft carrier, sounds like he would make a good rear gunner.

Whatever happens he can't go wrong with all the seamen here in Portsmouth.

how do I stop my cat from scratching at my new rug, ?

I have just bought a lovely new turkish rug and my cat for some reason has decided to pull at the end were the cotton binding is he has never done this before and I have noticed it is starting to fray he pulls it with his rather sharp claws he has only three paws as his back paw is missing he has lots of scratch posts all over the house which he uses all the time so I cannot understand why he has decided to have a go at my rug, His front paws are very strong as he pulls himself up on walls etc, so he can damage my rug in a very short time if I don't stop him, He only does it when I am not around ,

It's a little known fact that cats rarely scratch areas where they chin rub. You can either spray the cotton binding (once a day for 21 days) with Feliway as this mimics the scent from their facial glands. Alternatively, if your cat doesn't mind being handled, take a soft cloth, wipe it over his cheeks and then rub the cloth onto the rug.

Double-sided sticky tape can also be an effective deterrent against unwanted scratching.
