need help researching 'mandalian' 1930s mesh bag designer.?

all i can find are his bags for sale and i have collected a few bits of info from the adverts eg. he was turkish and lived in usa.his designs were influenced by the patterns on turkish rugs.but i would like more stuff about his life,when/where he was born and died,what kind of family he was born into,were any celebs at the time particularly fond of his work?how did he get into the world of fashion design?
iv searched the net but can only find his stuff for sale and no history.

Turkey sits astride two continents and proudly shows off its east meets west culture in a very green and pleasant land. European principles sit easily aside Asian traditions while the ancient history welcomes modern resorts.

Antalya, Izmir, Dalaman and Bodrum are the main tourist regions in Turkey and each one is becoming more and more popular every year. Holidaymakers are attracted to the wonderful weather, fantastic beaches, ancient treasures and historical ruins.
