Good restaurant recommendations in Ortakoy (Istanbul)?

Going to Istanbul in 2 weeks and would like to check out Ortakoy. However, from what I've read it's pretty touristy and upscale; and the restaurants tend to be very overpriced. Any recommendations for a good, inexpensive lunch in Ortakoy? Criteria:

- 2 Americans in our late 20's looking to have lunch in Ortakoy.
- Looking for a sitdown restaurant, decent atmosphere, doesn't have to be anything fancy
- Preferred cuisines include Turkish (no Kebabs please), other Middle Eastern, and Seafood
- Budget: No more than $50 total with tax, tip, a couple glasses of wine, appetizers and possibly dessert.

Is this possible? Recommendations? Web site/menu?

Thank you.

Hi,
Yes you're right, the price average is relatively high in Ortaköy.
The House Cafe has sandwiches, as well as main courses, about 25-30 lira (20$).
It's on the shore and the view is really not bad from there. You can also just drop by for a refreshing mint lemonade.
Lavanta is another restaurant near the Ortaköy mosque, mediterranean cuisine.
Or you just have a kumpir (baked potato with fillings) on the street and drive 15 mins to Arnavutköy and eat fish at the Adem Baba (no beer but delicious fish and salads in a warm atmosphere).
