Solution to the plight of IAS officers and other civil servants?

The fact is a 7 layer hierarchy (from Asst. Secretary to Cabinet Secretary) for an IAS and other civil servants in his career in India.

This hierarchy has created a chain of 'pleasing' his superiors instead of 'performing' for the nation for the civil servant.

Hence most of the civil servants precious passion and potential is being wasted in 'pleasing' this hierarchy throughout his career.

Government should constitute a panel of

1. farmer
2. industrialist
3. professor
4. trade union member
5. member of parliament

to evaluate and appraise all civil servants performance in India so that they can 'objectively' accomplish for India.

Please share your views.

Only Native American Indians have "plight".

Is My Car Totaled If the Three Quarter Panel Needs To Be Replaced?

An suv rammed into the side of my car (an Acura RSX-S) and left the side, right behind the front door, bent inward requiring the entire three quarter panel to be replaced. The door is smashed in too but the only real structual damage is to the passenger side rear (truck is fine). I think it can be fixed but most of my friends are telling me to part it out (sell the parts from it). I'd hate to do that since I just paid it off and really like it still. Estimates are between 5-6000 to fix but I found a body shop that will do it for 1400, maybe even less. I need advice from those experienced in body shop work. Should I part it out or fix it, then take my chances either selling it or trading it in later?

In most cases, an insurance company will "total" the car out if the damages exceed 80% of the value of the vehicle. Even if they total it out, you have the option of keeping the car, having it fixed, and having a "salvage title"... which denotes the vehicle was, at one time, damaged beyond "economical repair". It does not necessarily mean it was damaged beyond "physical" repair or unsafe to drive.

If it is just fender and door damage... no frame damage... then I doubt it will be totaled-out... especially if you have a quote for $1400 already! Use that quote to your advantage in lowering the insurance company estimates... that will reduce the likelihood of them writing it off.

  1. đяé had this to say about that:

Absolutely! You need to see if you would enjoy working for the company your are interviewing with. To see if their "culture" is what your looking for. My opinion is there has to be a fit from both sides – no point in starting a job that you hate – you need to find out what your in for!
