Sun Moon Stars
Why can we see the moon/sun/stars if they're so far away?
On Earth, we usually can't see more than a few miles ahead, but yet we can see the moon/sun/stars when they're thousands of miles up in the sky. Why is this?
The sun and other stars produce huge amounts of light, which continues to travel until it hits something. The brighter the light source is, the further away it can be seen.
Individual stars can by the human eye from thousands of light years away, while galaxies consisting of millions of stars can be seen up to 2 million light years away, although at that distance they are just faint, fuzzy patches. (A light year is about 6 million, million miles)
The Earth is a sphere and if you stand on a beach and look out to sea, or on a flat plain, the horizon is only 2.5 to 3 miles away. objects which rise above this level, such as hills, trees and tall buildings can be seen at greater distances, typically up to 30 miles.
Mountain ranges such as the Himalayas can be seen even further away, but our sight is limited because we cannot see around the curve of the Earth.

what information can you get from observing stars, sun, moon and planets without a telescope?
like what types of information. i know you can chart them, and also you can tell how bright the apparent magnitude of the stars are. you can see features on the moon and tell how the phases change, you can see the color of the sun,
but what else can you take as data?
i have a small useless telescope that make things only 2x
You can observe the wobble effect of the Earth, calculate the Earth's rotational speed, and observe that the Earth is not the center of the solar system. Many of these observations were made a long time ago by people with no telescopes.
