What is special about Geelong wool?

I have bought a yarn containing Geelong wool. Apart from coming from Geelong distric in Austraila, what makes it special compared to other wools? (Softer? Longer fibers? Etc. Etc). Thank you so much for any insight.

It appears to be a high quality Australian wool with an average fiber diameter of 19.5 microns, and is used to make better quality men's suits.
