I would go to a store that sells oriential rugs and ask for suggestions. It may be possible to sew a rod pocket on the back side of the rug and find a heavy wooden rod that you can slip it on to, the problem would be that you would need a center support with the weight and the wooden rod would need mounting brackets that are anchored into the studs.
