This book is presenting nine folk songs from Shiraz city, a southern city in Iran. The songs belong to an oralaural tradition, and have been played and sung by oral native musicians. The musicians, who played on the recording, usually performed them at different occasions such as ceremonies, funerals, private parties, or other occasions. The folk songs in this study have been transcribed and notated for the first time, to be available to other musicians. The text of the songs are in Shirazi dialect, which is a dialect of Frsi (Persian), and translated into modern Frsi, as well as into English. The main goal of transcribing these folk songs was to preserve the songs, as well as making them available to other musicians to pay attention to the songs, play them in different occasion with different arrangement.
