What sort of drill bit would I use to drill holes in sea shells?

I have a selection of sea shells and would like to display them outside. Thanks Jan.
I will have to find the instructions for my drill as it's on hammer at the mo and probably buy a drill bit as I've only got wood, concrete and twist bits - not that I know what I'd use a twist drill for! Jan

The drill bit should be slightly larger then the item you are going to use to string it up. What should be your main concern would be the type of drill your going to use. Since they are sea shells using an electric drill can pose a problem and you can easily crack the shell. Mainly because you could have a problem holding the shell and the drill at the same time; I have used a hand drill on delicate things and found that I have complete control of the speed and if anything starts to slip I can stop it in an instant before it does any damage. There is also a magnifying glass that sits on a table you can get that has two pincher's, one on each side that can hold the shell in place while you do your drilling.
