Rug Runners
How can I hold rugs and runners in place over carpet?
I want every dime of my deposit, when I move. I have three busy children that make tracks on our very light tan carpet. I have done okay, this past year, I taped rug, after rug, after runner, after runner.
With professional steam cleaning twice a year, how can I protect wall to wall light carpet?
P.S. especially on the stairs... tried -staples-nails-packing tape***worked for a year-left adhesive, though.**
I use the shelf lining that they sell at Walmart.
It's by the kitchen gadgets and comes in a large roll for $5.00.
You could cut and hot glue it around the edges of the rugs so they don't move. I used a piece for under my mattress so it won't slide and have it under my throw rugs.

Is it possible to cut a finished wool rug shorter?
I want to cut a runner rug shorter to fit in the odd space at the end of my hallway. It splits off and has two bedroom doors on either side. I want to cut an 8' runner down to 5'9. If possible...any advice, how to sites? thx
Yes you can cut it down to the length you need.And as mentioned you ll need to get it bound on the end w/ matching material . take it to the local carpet store and they ll have access to a rug binder. You can pick a color out right there or have them do it for you. It ll cost 2/3$ a l/f to have it bound. Surging ( a different technique) will cost a bit more. GL
