How do you clean Anti Vandal grease from carpets?

A neighbour has spread Anti-vandal grease on their wall and fence, unfortunately my cats seem to like to wander along there. Much as I have tried to train them.....the cats that is.......they still haven't learnt to wipe their feet when they come in. I now have greasy paw prints all over my nice cream woolen rug and beige carpet. Please HELP!!!!!

i have never been exposed to the anti-vandal grease, but here are some suggestions you could try:

-a strong hand cleaner that mechanic's use to get the grease off their hands
-dish washing liquid and boiling hot water
-baking soda over the stains, vinegar over the baking soda, let it fizz, when done fizzing scrub dish washing liquid into it and then steam-vac out the mixture
-intensive steaming

i would also try to deter the cats from the wall and fence... if the fence is your immediate neighbor, the best way is to install sprinkler that are on a timer set to times the cats are likely to prowl the fence, cats really hate that. Another way is the sprays designed to train animals, but it has to be done daily.
