Region Iran
During the very first briefing to Obama did someone get Iran and Israel mixed up?

Israel - biggest ally of the US in the region

Iran - claim we are the great satan and a puppet of the zionist nation

Israel - creating legal settlements in areas already populated by jews

Iran - building nuclear weapons

Israel - surrounded by enemies

Iran - surrounded by sycophants looking for cheap oil

During the first briefing given to Obama did some intern accidental swap the two country names? Cause Obama seems to be treating them exactly the wrong way.

Didn't you get the memo? Israel is much more a danger to world peace by building apartments in Jarusalem. Haven't you ever heard of WMA's (Weapons of Mass Apartments)? They are very dangerous but the big plus is it's very hard to hide them. Wait until the UN hears about this!

Iran, Iraq, and the Legacies of War

$134.33

Iraq and Iran are the two most important states in the Gulf region, given their population size, military strength, and the potential threat they pose to other states in the region and the United States. This book enhances our understanding of the troubled relationship between Iran and Iraq, placing it in historical context, examining the rapid deterioration leading to the eightyear war that started in 1980 and the effects of that trauma, and exploring the ongoing issues that currently bedevil bilateral relations. The authors cover such central issues as how each side has sought to use opposition groups in the other state to weaken it, ethnic divisions, the role of outside states (especially the United States), and a fascinating account of how the war affected a generation of Iraqis and Iranians. The role of the U.S. in the region and how U.S. policy has affected the two states are also considered. This book provides a basis for understanding the background of a tumultuous relationship that is entering a new era. Author: Potter, Lawrence G./ Sick, Gary G. The History of Iran By Daniel, Elton

The History of Iran By Daniel, Elton

$92.4

This survey of Irans historical development covers everything from its origins in ancient empires to its status as a modern nationstate. Iran, also known as Persia, has over 2500 years of history. It is one of the worlds first truly multicultural empires, and modern day Iran is based upon one of the worlds oldest continuous civilizations. Today, Iran is populated by over 74 million residents, and 10 percent of the worlds oil reserves are within its borders. Iran is a vast country with a storied, ancient past, a great diversity of cultures and ethnicities, and a location in arguably the most unstable area of the world. Irans history over the last two centuries, developing as a modern nationstate, freeing itself from foreign domination, and asserting its influence in both the region and the world, has been particularly fascinating. This title gives an overview of Iranian history. It is intended to acquaint readers with the important events and personalities that have shaped that long history. In this second edition, the author has thoroughly revised the original content and has added two new chapters, one of which is dedicated to Iran in the 21st century. Particular attention is paid to explaining the forces that led to the revolution of 1979 and the establishment of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as the controversies of its domestic and foreign policies. Oral Cancer in Tehran, Iran

Oral Cancer in Tehran, Iran

$111.53

Oral cancer, the most common cancer of the head and neck region, ranks eighth among the most prevalent cancers in the world. Despite advances in technology and treatment the survival rate has not been improved in the last decades. Oral cancer affects not only the quantity but also the quality of life (QOL). The present study investigated for the first time the burden of oral cancer in Tehran, Iran in terms of patient and tumor characteristics, survival rate, and delay in diagnosis. At the time of diagnosis, most oral cancer patients were at advanced stages. Oral cancer patients survival was negatively associated with tumor stage at diagnosis. The findings of this study revealed that the total time elapsed between the onset of symptoms and diagnosis, the diagnostic delay, was high. This may explain the low survival rate of the oral cancer patients. Based on the findings, developing preventive programs that focus on raising public awareness about the signs and symptoms of oral cancer is essential in promoting earlier diagnosis of oral cancer in Tehran, Iran. This study should be especially useful to professionals in oral health fields. High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles This important road connects Tehran to Persian gulf. The Persian Gulf, in the Southwest Asian region, is an extension of the Indian Ocean located between Iran and the Arabian Peninsula. Historically and commonly known as the Persian Gulf, this body of water is sometimes controversially referred to as the Arabian Gulf by most Arab states or simply The Gulf, although neither of the latter two terms is recognized internationally. The name Gulf of Iran is used by the International Hydrographic Organization. The Persian Gulf was a focus of the 19801988 IraqIran War, in which each side attacked the others oil tankers. In 1991, the Persian Gulf again was the background for the Gulf War, when Iraq invaded Kuwait and was subsequently pushed back, though this conflict was conducted primarily on land, rather than in Persian Gulf waters. The Bear and the Lion: Soviet Imperialism and Iran

The Bear and the Lion: Soviet Imperialism and Iran

$154.21

In his provocative analysis of Soviet goals in Southwest Asia, particularly Iran, Sicker argues that Soviet imperialism in this area exhibits a remarkable consistency from tsarist times to the present. Directly challenging prevailing beliefs of diminished Soviet interest in Iran or the Persian Gulf, Sicker asserts that the Soviet withdrawal from Afghanistan, their history of interest in the area, and the regions growing geopolitical significance all enhance the probability of a Soviet move to bring Iran into its sphere of influence. Moreover, Sicker demonstrates Soviet goals in the area are long term and are not subject to revision as a consequence of temporary setbacks or a change in Soviet leadership. Students and policymakers will find The Bear and the Lion both a realistic appraisal of the importance of Iran to the Soviet Union and a comprehensive historical analysis of the roots of that interest. Sicker begins by examining the era of tsarist expansionism, demonstrating that Russias strategic interest in Iran can be traced back as far as the reign of Peter the Great. He goes on to examine Irans emerging strategic importance during the 19th century, exploring the geopolitical importance of Iran to the Soviet Union both before and after the discovery of oil there. Subsequent chapters trace during the Second World War, the era of Muhammad Reza Shah, and the Khomieni regime. Based on his analysis, Sicker concludes that Soviet imperialism is very much a reality in the region and that this constitutes a serious threat to the territorial integrity and political independence of Iran, and to U.S. interests in the area. Russlands Beziehungen Zum Iran

Russlands Beziehungen Zum Iran

$32.99
