A rectangle floor covered by a rug except for a strip of 3m wide along each of the four edges of the floor.The area of the floor is MN. what is the area of the rug?
the answer i was told is MN-3(M+N)
but i cant get it done how it is so.
would appreciate if anyone clarifies.
