Hi, I'm writing an essay for the topic:

“A boy who won’t stand up for himself becomes a man who can’t stand up to anything.” Is this true of Amir?

This is my introduction paragraph...does it sound ok?

While this quote may be true of the twelve year old protagonist we are introduced to
at the beginning of the novel, Amir inevitably develops to become a man who does
face his fears and past sins, therefore becoming a man who will stand up to
anything. The Kite Runner presents to us Amir, a young coward boy, that doesn’t stand up to anyone or anything. However it is his inactivity that causes his guilt ridden life, as he stands passively and watches the rape of his Hazara servant, Hassan. Moreover this guilt drives his future actions, as he tries to “atone his sins” in an effort to rid himself of these feelings of guilt. By doing so, Amir becomes a man that “can stand up to anything”.
