What color leggings and cardigan/shrug should I wear with a casual navy blue dress?

I have a navy blue dress from Abercrombie and Fitch that falls mid-thigh, and I have to wear something underneath because my legs don't look great. So I was going to wear some cropped leggings, but I'm not sure what color to get. My parents are conservative and also want me to cover my shoulders with a cardigan or shrug- what color should I get in that? My shoes will be either black flats or navy flip flops.

I'd go with grey leggings and a white cardigan.
