Navy Blue Tufted

Looking for help identifying a bird seen in MA.?

(had to repost this due to a screw-up on my part)
The entire head (beak included) was black, with the body an iridescent navy blue. head and neck about 2" in length, 3/4" wide, body about 4-5" long, maybe 2" wide at it's thickest point. tail feathers were about 2" long. Both times i saw this bird, it landed on the ground, hopped around a bit, then flew off. (1 time was at the Boston Public Garden, next to the pond the swan boats are in, second time was on the grounds of Tufts University) I know it's not a relative of the crow, since the beak and body were both too slim. beak looked similar to that of a starling, but longer and black)
i've looked at the pictures of a grackle, and the beak is wrong. the bird i saw had a long, thin, pointed beak. it's similar in shape to a starling's beak, only a bit longer.

Sounds like a Common Grackle.
