Mountain Bamboo

I have this mental image of the perfect place to live- now all I need to know is where to find it!?

I've been thinking of taking a year off (after schooling) with my significant other to live somewhere away from civilization. I'm not too sure where in the world has these things, but here is my mental image of where I'm looking for:
Somewhere warm year-round, preferrably not much rain. A place right on the water, where the water is bright blue and warm. The place we'd stay in is a small hut, almost everything is wooden or bamboo, even bowls and plates and chopsticks. Waterfalls, mountains, palm trees (these things would be nice but I'm just picky.) The town is small, nowhere near a tourist place, we're trying to get away from the big city. Anywhere in the world will do, but we really only speak Engish.
If anyone has been to a place like this, or is knowledgeable of the world and it's cultures, please let us know where we can find this paradise we think of I've been looking online but there's not much help; just tourist cities, nothing secretive.
