Religion in the prison system?

I spent some time in a military prison. In the max security section, a chaplin would come by the cells every week to offer prayer and council. In gen population, the services offered were weekly meetings for Catholic, Protestant, Islam, and Wicca studies. Depending on your security level, you could have things like medallions, prayer rugs, and runes. Many inmates said that they found God or the gods because they had reached the bottom in their lives and religion helped them stand back up. Many inmates just wanted a break from the grind to go sit in a chapel for a change of scenery. Some used the services to pass and receive contraband.

I don't know what it's like in a civilian run prison but I've heard that groups like Aryans and Black Muslims use the religious services to introduce hate speech. Does anyone know more about this subject?

In Ohio prisons that would be impossible as guards are present at any gathering of inmates and inciting to riot or indoctrinating in hate would violate prison regulations on several levels landing everybody in either cell isolation or the hole. While those kinds of things occur they occur in secret and travel from cell to cell not openly in a group meeting under the auspices of religious services. In addition chaplains and guest speakers have to pass a rigorous pre-screening. DRC at least in Ohio doest't allow just any ole civilian to waltz through the metal detectors and razor wire to incite unrest within.

Last sunday my now ex bf DRAGGED me across the floor because i threw a piece of candy at him while arguing. I?

never thought this would happen, he jumped up, grabbed me and started pulling me to leave. I wasn't going out like that so I was diving into corners, hanging on to the dresser for dear life. He was f'in hurting me! Knowing his ass couldn't drag me out he grabs my purse and work bag and threw it out the door. Hell no! He goes out the room. I sit there for a sec. Then think no this s.b didnt just throw my stuff out AND drag me on the floor. So I MESED HIS ROOM UP! spread the trash out on the floor, clothes off hangers. clothes out of dressers. papers everywhere. took his cds and his cherished medallion basketball chain. He DESERVED IT! My chocolate skin body with no marks, no has a nasty rug burn scar on my elbow. I'm PISSED! He hasn't called to apologize or nothing! Wut should I do?

You are an idiot. You are as much to blame as he is. Get anger management help. And don't date anymore, until you work out whatever problem it is that causes you to do such immature, irrational things.
