At the start of the war, the standard uniform was a shell jacket, a kepi and pants. As the war went on, you vould wear your own hat or pants.
I dont understand why the standard uniform was different colors.
Actually not everyone wore the same color clothes. This is just what you see in all the painting to differentiate between the two sides. They just wore what they had.

I was returning home after a long and hectic day when I suddenly heard the Police Jeep siren. I looked back from my rear mirror and found that they are escorting a vehicle of a “Neta” (politician). I gave side to them and let them go.
Although it is a regular event for me but this time it really triggered my mind as to why do they need privileges on road whereas common people like me keep struggling to reach home and most of the time stuck in traffic jam.
Will our nation really suffer great loss if they do not reach on time for a meeting that is a deciding factor of the future of the nation or with time it has become trend and status symbol to use Police for escorting, special lights (Red or Blue lights) on top of vehicle, blowing ear deafening horns, driving at a very high speed, and security guard threatening and abusing general public and in some cases even beating public vehicle drivers if they are not allowed to pass on time.
Let’s take the positive side of this instance that they need to be present in person in an important meeting which will decide the future of the nation. But to be very frank I still don’t see the need of using all these privileged resource.
We boost of India as the fastest growing economy, have seen IT and telecom revolution with second highest number of mobile phone subscriber in the world, companies have been advertising of high speed internet connections both wireless and fixed line.
With all these facilities available why can’t they use them during travel to meet their commitments? In none of the case they are driving their vehicle and are in a comfortable position compared to common people to use these technologies during travel.

It is hard to imagine a politician without a PA or associates. They can ask their PA’s to learn basic computer and help them with these features.
Political parties have been spending crores of rupees in election campaign but have not spent or have spent very little in organizing their party affairs using computers.
