Why isn't Aboriginals given a history month since they WERE slaves in North America before the Blacks arrived?

In the history of the world, African Americans were not the only race used for slavery. I am Aboriginal, I just want to know why we can't have a month for people to learn about us, our past and our current plights. I am not racist but have racism directed at me. Thank you
