High End What recommendations do you have for high end, executive trip?
I am planning a luxury retreat for 10 key customers to an undetermined location and thought I would see what ideas people out here have. These people we are taking have the money to do whatever they want so we need to impress. Last year we took them to the Masters and it was a big hit! Recommendations on the most high end, luxury accommodations as well as high end activities, etc. are appreciated. There will be male and female attendees, all 40s-50s. Trip to take place DURING the week and two nights, one full day. Timing = May or June this year.
Ideas already on the list include:
Fly fishing/spa
Napa Valley
Hot ticket concert at great venue
Kentucky Derby
Thanks for your input.
Since I'm from NYC, I'd say you can't beat two nights at The Peninsula Hotel on Fifth Avenue, (which happens to have a terrific spa), tickets to a Broadway Show and dinner at The Four Seasons. The day of arrival you might want to plan a dinner at The Peninsula- you really can't go wrong. You could even arrange a horse and carriage ride through Central Park for them. If you really have the bucks, you might even be able to arrange some sort of private tour or reception for them at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Don't know what part of the country you're from, and this might be really out there, but you may also want to check out The Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island in Michigan. I'm in the travel business too and it's one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. It's where the movie "Somewhere in Time" with Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeve was filmed and it truly feels like a step back in time.
The Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida is quite impressive
So is the Biltmore Estate which I think is in North Carolina.
Scottsdale, Arizona has some amazing spa resorts.
The Chateau Frontenac in Quebec City is beautiful.
Lake Louise and Banff in the Canadian Rockies are amazing. Helicopter in. Take a ride on a glacier.
The Sagamore in Bolton's Landing in the Lake George region of New York is beautiful. So is Santa Barbara in California. It's fun just to think about this! I'll check back in if I have any more!

Is Best Buy a good place to get a high end home theater?
My parents are asking me for help in choosing a high end sound system. Is the Magnolia theater in Best Buy's a solid choice for a really high end sound system? And any tips in matching receivers with speakers? Any brands? Thanks!
I would say that Best Buy is not the place to go if you want to find a "really high end" sound system. Then again, what you may not be aware of is that a "really high end sound system" can easily run you $3o,ooo.
On the other hand, Best Buy does have some very nice mid-range brands in stock. I would concentrate on their Klipsch and Polk Audio speakers and stay awar from the Bose, Sony, and other brands. Klipsch and Polk Audio are both great midrange brands with highly respectable frequency response for the price.
I would also recommend staying away from the speaker packages. While it's not that they are already matched for you, you will not get the quality that you can get by picking out the speakers individually. Just note that when you do pick individual speakers, you should always stick to the same brand and series so that all of the same drivers are used. This will lead you to a much better "matched" sound.
Here are some speakers that I would pick in your position.
Left and Right speakers
People usually use that option as a backup if you don't get into your school of choice. Or they will do college then transfer when they are finished to a University to get even more education. Now if you do a transfer what you have to do is apply as a transfer student. They consider your highschool grades and what you have done in college so far. If you are accepted, your transcript is sent to a governing body that will decide which if any classes you may keep credit for. Every school and individual is treated differently. For example if you get a 90% in a class you may receive credit, while a guy who got a 72% may not. Also if you have chemistry from one school you may not be credited, when the same guy has a chemistry from a different school and did. It's very much case by case. This is a backup, you almost always loose credits. Apply to your dream school first, unless you KNOW your marks arent good enough and they have a rule only allowing you to apply every 3 years which is the case with some top rated schools
