Carpet Runner Can stair runners be made from regular carpet?
I am getting my upstairs carpeted and I really like the look of a stair runner with wood on the edges. I want the carpet to match. So can i possibly bind the edges of the same carpet going in the rooms? Also I don't have a finished wood in place now on the stairs. Will i nedd to put wood on the whole step or just what is showing?

Most definitely.. You can have the same carpet as your running every where else and have a pc bound , which some installers have a machine to do it on site or sent out and theres about a week turn around on that. Or carpet can be turned and tacked right on the stairs w/o being bound.
Unless you get the 3/8 ths stair edging I wouldn t do a side cap. Stairs sould be wider than the normal 3 ft to do this. GL
