Carpet Ivory What color should I paint my bedroom/office to go with the "golden oak" wood trim?
my room is pretty big, standard ceiling height, walls are smooth, ceiling is semi-smooth, 3 windows, woodwork is an orangey-yellowy light wood. the carpet is beige.

I don't have a strong preference, just want something kinda nuetral. I want something a little bolder than ivory or white, but not too bright or too dark. i was thinking a light gray or maybe some color in the oranges family? i can't think of any orangeish colors that would go with the trim, though. any thoughts? please be as specific as possible, with an exact shade or a link to a picture or something. i am open to any advice you want to give. i will add more details if you ask questions.
Great color for your trim. Do not do any orange shade, though; orange will either 'dirty' the trim look or clash.
Your can do 3 walls in a light or pastel shade and a darker, medium shade on the the 4th (& larger viewing) wall since it is a large room.
For neutral, do beige to wheat on 3 and tan on 4th.
For neutral, do pastel shade on 3 and either medium darker of same shade on 4th or do the medium gray on 4th.
In my bedroom, I did the off white for the ceiling. Then a mint green for the 4 walls. Then added mauve (with off white, green) wallpaper border. Plus added curtains with various shades of greens and mauve.
These basic colors matched the bedspread.
Pick colors in your room to pick your lighter wall shades to offset the current accent colors that you have. I'm big on the mint green and mauve - - then work from that. Everything will go with it except the orangy shades tend to clash with the Golden Oak.
