Authentic Antique any ideas how I can get an antique chair dated/valued?
I've bought two chairs today, which I'm planning to restore. Before I start I'd like to know how old they are, so I can use authentic materials, and how much they might be worth, so I can set myself a budget
I've absolutely no idea about antiques and have looked at about 1000 pictures of chairs on the internet, but since my chairs are quite unusual I've not seen any that are even similar.
Does anybody know of a good website/place, which could help me out?
Your best bet and easiest option is to take one of the chairs to your local auction house. They will give a free valuation and probably lots of free advice too. Best of luck..
