need help in decorating?

how to decorate in albuquerque style or Tuscany style?having to paint the entry way of our home and i want something warm i'm thinking of painting it like a golden warm color but my husband wants a auburn color because our tile is dark brown with a hint of red and when you walk into our living room our carpet is blue and one side of wall is wood and the other is a beige color and i don't have any decorating ideas or anything of sorts please need some advice thanks.

what I would do is put a spot of each color on the wall if those are the 2 choices you came up with, and then you can stand back and take in all of the surroundings and look at each color. You should be able to tell which one looks the best, or feels the best to you and your husband. You could even have a friend or someone come over and give you their opinion. But in the end it is about what makes you feel good and cozy in your home. Remember, your the ones that are going to be living there. Also. 1 other tip is that I would usually try to tie all the rooms together with some type of small similarities. With southwest style the posibilities are endless. It's all about the decorating. But that is just my opinion.I would also look at some decorating magazines. They can give you the greatest ideas. GOOD LUCK.
