J D Oriental Rug 6812 Intermediate Tabriz Rug $1579.5 JD Oriental Rugs Co. is a 3rd generation wholesaler of antique and semiantique oriental rugs from all over the world. The inventory consists of antique and semiantique decorative carpets in all different sizes whether it be oversizes runners or small mats. Antique carpets have a history of more than 2 500 years. This art form carries a sense of tradition from a country which has a very rich and powerful history. The skill and thought dedicated to each of these carpets adds a unique character to each piece. To trace the history of Antique carpets is to follow a path of cultural growth in one of the greatest civilizations the world has ever known. The element of luxury with which an Oriental carpet is associated today provides a marked contrast with its humble beginning among the nomadic tribes. Then it was an article of necessity to protect the tribes from the bitterly cold winters of the country. Although cotton was used for the warp and weft of the carpet wool became the basic weaving material for carpets. This material as well as silk are still used today to weave authentic Persian carpets. A key feature in making the carpets is the bright colors used to form the intricate designs and patterns. . Size: 4.11 x 7.5 . Type: Tabriz. Category: Intermediate. Woven: Hand Knotted. |

BACK AND FORTH IN IRAN
Persia was name of Iran in olden times.
Today it is known as Islamic Republic of Iran headed by its Clerical Leader.
The country with its capital Tehran Lies between Caspian Sea and the Persian Gulf and consists of a central plateau surrounded by mountains.
The Islamic Republic was born 30 years ago on 1 April 1979.
The country of antiquity and culture is one of the biggest oil-producing regions in the Middle East.
It appears that Iran owns 7.5 per cent of total world oil reserves and 15 per cent of global gas deposits.
India and Pakistan were interested to get gas from Iran through pipeline.
I do not know what happened to the huge project of pipe lying.
After the downfall and dissolving of Iraq, the neighboring country, Iran appeared in the news, because of it hardliner President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s dictatorial administration.
Ahmadinejad is a strong supporter of his own ideas and deadly against the Americans.
The policy of Iran going nuclear is not liked very much by the American government and also its allies.
Even during the Bush administration, the relation was not good and so with Obama.
In the recent election, Ahmadinejad claimed that he got more than 60 per cent majority and won the election.
But most of the Iranians supported Mir Hossein Mousavi, the opposition candidate who is comparatively softer, were not accepting the election verdict.
They are of the opinion that Ahmadinejad had rigged the election.
There is a big fight after the election going on between these two groups.
Mousavi appealed against the election result.
The supporters of Mousavi protested in Tehran saying that it was a ‘stolen election.’
Ignoring the electoral fraud, according to Mousavi, Ahmadinejad said his country would continue to play a prominent international role in the coming days.
During the first press conference which took place after his re-election he pointed out that the election is like a football match played by two teams; the loser should just let it go.
Logically he is right, but why the confusion after the election?
If the election was free and fair, there is no point in criticizing the validity of the election.
Is it an unfair election held in Iran?
If so, there is a point in the protests by the Iranians.
I could see in TV the huge crowd assembling in Tehran to protest the electoral victory of Ahmadinejad.
The integrity of the election is questioned because of the deliberate shutting down of SMS services throughout Iran and the improbably low vote for the reformist leader Mousavi in his home town of Tabriz.
Whether the question by Mousavi and his supporters will succeed?
If so, how?
Or there should be a revolution to topple Ahmadinejad’s elected government.
There is an element of external support from the U. S. and U. K. to Mousavi.
The Americans and the British do not want to see Ahmadinejad again in power because of his confrontationist attitude and insisting on making Iran a nuclear power.
International influence on Iran to overthrow Ahmedinejad is obviously expected.
Time alone will tell us the future of Iran.
The street fights rocked Tehran.
Seven people lost their life in firing.
The Government also organized huge rally in downtown of Tehran.
Witnessing the two sides fighting on the street, Aytollah Ali Khamenei directed the Supervisory Guardian Council to announce on 16 June 2009 that it was ready to go ahead with a recount of votes in the disputed ballot boxes.
But the news was incorrect.
What else can they do?
On 19 June 2009 Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamnei has firmly endorsed the results of the disputed Presidential election and warned the protesters to keep off the streets.
His reasoning was that the margin of victory in favor of Ahmadinejad showed that rigging was not possible.
But Mir Hossein Mousavi accused MahmoudAhmadinejad of lying about the state of Iran’s economy by saying “We are up against a person who says black is white and four times four equals five. He looks into the camera and lies with self-confidence.”
Ahmedinejad at the same time said that Mousavi and other rivals should be imprisoned for their remarks. He also added: “No one has the right to insult the President”
That’s the fate of Iran at present.
Let’s wait for the bright future of Iran.
