I have ugly antique furniture in my room, how can i make it look more modern?

PLEASE HELP! i have ugly, yellow-ish wood, antique furniture in my room that i have to use. I am a 13 year old girl and i want my room to look cool and colorful. If you have any ideas about how i can make it look the way i want please tell me. And i have Pink carpet and White walls. If you find any pictures that show your idea then feel free to show me. Sand it and paint it black or Chocolate brown (both are very modern).

I'd use Floor Paint because it's more durable than wall paint.

I'd also do it outside or at least use a good drop cloth.

Depending on how much furniture you paint, one quart of Floor Paint should be enough.

You might want to apply a coat of polyurethane on the furniture after you paint it. This will seal it.
