Ugly carpet help - purple and green?

We've just moved into our first house, and there are two extra bedrooms that will take us a while to grow into. Painting is our #1 option to transform these spaces into guest rooms on a budget.

The carpets are downright ugly -- the largest room has what I call "dusty plum" - a true, darker purple with pinkish/red tones (the walls are pastel pink and purple right now - a little girls' room).

The smaller room has a lime/peridot carpet - think gender neuteral baby's room (exactly what it was). The walls have a multi-colored baby border and are painted to match the carpet (poor baby has a bad start in the style world already!).

Any recommendations for colors to paint these rooms to tone down or blend these carpets? My first instinct for the purple room is to go with an antique bronze color, and the room is large enough to pull it off. I'm drawing a blank with the green room... any thoughts are appreciated!

a clay color would work but if you hate the carpet so much you can buy dye for your carpets just use a carpet shampoorer instead of water use the dye directions should be on the bottle.

Antique Carpet Fire Blast New Rug to look Old Rug



I'm decorating a room in shabby chic and need help. The carpet is a medium blue color with some white?

specks in it, the walls are white, and I have two peice of furniture that are also white (bed and mini bookcase). This room is for my toddler. I want it to look old/antique-ish but with some glamour.. any ideas? Also, it's a small room so I need some ideas for furniture placement and storage that's stylish and cheap! Would love a decorator for some great ideas! Also, I would love to incorporate some gold in the room if possible, for glam! It's for my toddler she's 3.
